On Thursday, May 22, Lagos government inaugurated the state’s Post-COVID-19 Pandemic Review Committee and veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva was made Chairman to head the committe.
The talented Nollywood star shared the news via her Instagram page, much to the excitement of her fans and followers.
According to Peco Hub media who broke the news, the committee was inaugurated to reactivate the tourism, arts, and culture sector of the state.
Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf, during the inauguration, spoke on the state’s creative industry's dormancy, following the coronavirus pandemic
She added that the committee was to draw more attention to the development of domestic tourism in order to revive the industry.
It was also reported that Ali Baba was given a special assignment by the Lagos government as well.
The coronavirus pandemic has already caused great changes in many parts of the world as governments in different countries try to come up with different ways to handle its effects and to also flatten the curve.
Legit.ng a while ago, gathered that the Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari, has approved the appointment of some Nigerian celebrities to a committee of creative industry stakeholders during this pandemic.
According to Vanguard, ace comedian, Ali Baba, has been appointed as the chairman of the committee while Anita Eboigbe of the News Agency of Nigeria has been appointed as the secretary.
In other news, these are certainly good times for Nigerian music as more and more artistes continue to gain international recognition. Currently on the Billboard's spotlight are Tiwa Savage, Davido and Mr Eazi.
The top Nigerian singers recently featured on the May 2020 issue of the international entertainment magazine and they are ecstatic, rightfully so.
Meanwhile, the United States Mission to the African Union has recognized the effort of a Nigerian man, Oluwayomi Zeblon, for helping his peers during coronavirus pandemic.
A student at Lagos State University, the young man was able to organize a teaching session for his mates online in order to empower them to bring about change in their communities.[NewsNaira]
