While we completely admit that we are all waiting for more Bad Girl Riri music drops, we one hundred percent support the singer as she slammed fans who are demanding an album release amid the COVID-19 crisis.
On an Instagram Live on April 11, the hit singer had fans blasting the live comment section asking her when her long-awaited album will be released. The singer clapped back with the fierceness we all know her for, saying, "If one of y’all motherf**kers ask me about the album one more time when I’m tryna save the world, unlike y’all president...on sight."
The 'Diamonds' singer has already donated $5 million to help aid in the global coronavirus relief through her Clara Lionel Foundation. Furthermore, the esteemed singer has pledged to donate another million alongside rapper Jay-Z to help those affected in New York and Los Angeles that have reported having been the worst-hit cities across the US. Rihanna also touched the hearts of many when she revealed that her donations will be focused on domestic violence victims, who now while being stuck at home could be subjected to worse violence.
The pop sensation's last album was 'ANTI' and was released in 2016. Given its success, we're waiting for the next one, but during the pandemic that's the last thing on anyone's mind — or well, it should be. Should the singer release her next album, it will be her ninth studio album. Hollywood Life reported that a source close to the singer revealed, "Rihanna has over a hundred songs either fully recorded and produced, various beats and tons of lyrics and plenty of unfinished songs scattered around for consideration for her next album. She knows that her fans are jonesing for more from her and now with the world, as it is, it is putting all her focus to get new music out there quicker than she anticipated."
While Rihanna has always been about her fans, it's great to see artists like her using their voice and pedestals to put close-minded thinking to a stop. She's trying to save the world during a crisis that has been ravaging lives with no pity and just as we are grateful for her artistry, we are also grateful for her altruistic personality.[NewsNaira]
