The Nigerian Prisons Service has been subjected to mockery after it changed its name to the Nigerian Correctional Service.

This follow the signing into law, the Nigerian Correctional Service Bill, by president Muhammadu Buhari.

Ita Enang, who is the Senior Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters confirmed the news to the media and following that, the Nigerian Prisons Service is expected to now  be called the Nigerian Correctional Service.

Reacting, many Nigerians are far from optimistic the change of name would translate to a reformed prisons service.

A particular twitter user joked that it was the same way the defunct National Electric Power Authority, NEPA changed its name to the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, yet no improvement.

That’s how NEPA turned PHCN, but the content remained same, BLACK OUT.

Hahaha
Correctional or Collectional?
Some persons are not there for corrections but someone collected (kidnapped) their right of free movement.

Having changed the name, have the services improved? Have they improved the living conditions of inmates? This is nothing but cosmetic appendage !!
