Few months ago, the Bayelsa State Govt under the able leadership of His Excellency (Sen) Douye Diri Douye demolished all illegal structures in the popular Tombia market (Etegwe Junction) Yenagoa, in order to achieve the following;
To ease traffic flow in building flyover.
Beautification of Yenagoa capital city.
Improving hygiene conditions.
Exposure of criminal hideaways etc.
The demolition which yielded the results of its purpose by fetching out hideouts of criminals in the area, which also opened up the junction and reducing traffic and also helped in the safety of traders that normally sells by the road side.
The demolition which yield a positive result but many Bayelsans questioned why there was no alternative place to move the market or a temporal place where the market can be moved to.
Further more, there was the need to relocate the fast-growing Tombia market to a more conducive and organised location.
Thence, the honourable Commissioner for Special Projects, Hon. Ekisah Sinkumo Abraham along-side the honourable Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Hon. Stanley Ebraboke all in Bayelsa State, today Tuesday took a tour around Yenagoa metropolis in search of a possible, suitable site to relocate the market.
It seems the cries of Bayelsans have been heard by the miracle governor. Bayelsans are expecting more from him.[NewsNaira]
